Fiele, the Italian word for bile, specifically refers to the ancient black bile of Humoralism and the consequences that an excess of it could cause in the body.
In this photographic project, I've drawn from historical research on humoral theory to give a physical and visible form to something entirely intangible: a specific mental and physical state. The series of photos aims to capture the heavy and corrosive sensation of a disorder that begins in my mind and extends to my body as physical pain.
